Strategies for Supporting Autism Spectrum
Duration:
15 minutes
$2,200.00
Strategies for Supporting Autism Spectrum began at my kitchen table, surrounded by IEP drafts, evaluation reports, and a child who loved gears more than playgrounds. I remember wishing someone would sit beside me and say, "Here's what actually helps-in school, at home, at work."
In this session, I do exactly that. I translate years of advocating for my autistic son and collaborating with educators and employers into clear, everyday strategies. We look at sensory needs, communication styles, and executive functioning, then explore how small adjustments-visual checklists, decompression spaces, alternative ways to show learning-can change everything.
Participants practice reframing "challenging behavior" as unmet needs, and leave with practical ideas for classrooms, family life, and community settings. I keep the language plain, the examples real, and the focus on honoring strengths while easing pressure. This workshop works well for mixed audiences of parents, educators, and support staff who need usable tools, not more jargon.
